This year, the Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Austria with the theme\u00a0\u201cBuilding Bridges\u201d. You might be asking what this musical competition has in common with Mars research. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Each song contest participant was invited in advance to visit a particular, special place in Austria. At this location, a short intro video was filmed, also known as a \u201cpostcard\u201d video. The Swedish participant M\u00e5ns Zelmerl\u00f6w received\u00a0 a ticket to \u201eMars\u201c as\u00a0his postcard… and this is\u00a0how Mars research entered into the events surrounding the Eurovision Song Contest. The Mars spacesuit that M\u00e5ns Zelmerl\u00f6w was wearing is our Aouda Mars analog spacesuit simulator, and the postcard filming took place on-location at our \u00a0extraordinary Mars analog missions laboratory\u00a0in the Austrian Alps!<\/p>\n

Sweden’s M\u00e5ns Zelmerl\u00f6w will start as number 13th in the 2nd semi-final on Thursday, May 21st\u00a02015, <\/strong>and if M\u00e5ns Zelmerl\u00f6w makes it to the finale with his song \u201eHereos\u201c, then you\u2019ll get the chance to watch the \u201cpostcard\u201d-film again on Saturday, May 23rd 2015.
